TV and Film

Below is  Boy By Pool. This is a short film made for Straight 8 and was shortlisted in the 2023 competition.

Straight 8 is a filmmaking competition where you shoot an entire short film on a single Super 8 cartridge, with no second takes and no editing afterwards. You line your audio up based on timings and don’t get to see the footage until the completed film is projected for the first time. It’s chaotic, stressful, and a lot of fun.

Funded and produced by Double Dice Films, (Un)usual Love is an improvisational comedy dating show I wrote and directed. In each episode, two comedians are transformed into completely original characters through elaborate makeovers. With only minutes to figure out who they are, they’re sent straight into a fictional blind date with no script, no preparation, and no idea what they’re walking into. Part character experiment, part disastrous first date, the series follows these unpredictable encounters as the comedians improvise their way through awkward conversations, strange chemistry, and increasingly chaotic revelations. Guiding the evening is the restaurant’s overly invested waiter-host, whose attempts to keep the date on track usually make things much, much worse.

This short film follows a witty Australian dietitian. Living in London she braces for another long, grey winter. As the city shifts from sunny autumn days to rain, darkness, and 4pm sunsets, Paige explores why shorter days can leave people feeling low,  and what can actually help. Blending humour, stylised visuals, and practical advice, she breaks surviving winter down into three simple ideas: finding good indoor routines, getting outside and moving, and staying connected to other people. Through sewing projects, frisbee in the park, and cosy nights with friends, Paige shows that while winter might be unavoidable, feeling miserable all season doesn’t have to be. Warm, funny and lightly educational, Winter is Coming is a short documentary about finding your thing before winter finds you.

A short film about a conflicted young man’s indecision that  takes the form of Party Ralph, his loud, reckless alter ego who pushes him toward a night out. As the two, both played by Raman Kribi battle for control, their argument spills into the real world, driving away the very friend caught in the middle. For a brief moment Ralph thinks he has won, until he realizes his inability to choose has left him exactly where he feared: alone.
